It's been over a month since I was separated from my partner and buried alive in a pit. It's been less than a week since Jashin-sama freed me.  
 
Jashin-sama brought us to a run motel in the middle of some tiny backwater village. She says she's sick of me getting beat down; that she's wants to be able to stand next to me during a fight. Making a chakra body shell just so she can move around is too much off a challenge in the middle of a battle. She needs her own body, and I'm finally strong enough to help her obtain it.

Distorted Support BeamThe sound of crying mixed with hiccups was really beginning to get on his nerves.  
 
“I-I lost it. You trusted me with it, and I fucking lost it!”   
‘I didn’t even expect you to keep it this long.’ The words are lost on Itachi’s lips as he looks over the man who’d recently showed up at the doorstep of his temporary hideout in complete hysterics.   
He turns to the liquor cabinet at the far side of the room. ‘Nothing a little hard gin can’t cure,’ he thinks, knowing he’s lying to himself.

The figure perched on a rock across the wide river smiled slightly, “Oh come now; you knew how this was going to turn out. We both know better than to get our hopes up.”
